Accommodations

On-campus accommodations: We secured block reservations of a total of 105 rooms at the only on-campus accommodation option, Hoam Faculty House. If you want to request a reservation at Hoam, please submit the attached form to the conference secretariat by email. The application is due March 31, but could be closed much earlier due to the limited availability (now closed).

For participants who want to secure good accommodation options, and especially those who want to explore downtown environments and culture of Seoul, we did an early survey to make a list of alternative accommodations in downtown areas. Of course, the participants are encouraged to explore many other options in Seoul by themselves. The conference venue, the main campus of Seoul National University can be accessed easily by Subway Line #2 (Green, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seoul_Subway_Line_2), so we kindly suggest you try to find and reserve hotels near main subway stations on the line, e.g. Sadang, Gangnam. Based on our survey, the earlier you make a reservation, the better deal you can get from the hotel you prefer.

Please kindly understand that every conference participant is self-responsible for the hotel reservations, and the conference organizers are not able to provide assistance regarding reservations for specific hotels.

Important Tip for Public Transportation

With a T-money card (https://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/TRP/TP_ENG_8_1_1.jsp), available at most convenience stores (including those at the airports), you can use bus, subway and taxi anywhere in Seoul and Korea at discounted rates. This means, you do not need to purchase tickets each time or carry cash and coins. Just deposit enough cash value in the card when you purchase, and tag the “beeping” devices with your card when you get on and off. When you leave Korea, you can get the refund of the remaining deposit at any convenience stores (or keep it to re-use when you visit Korea next time).
